To export data to be used in another application:
1.. Choose the File menu > "Export Records".
2. From the "Export Records to File" dialog box, type a name and
choose a location for the file.
3. Choose a file type from "Save as type" (Windows) or "Type"
(Mac OS), then click Save.
4.. In the Specify Field Order for Export dialog box, indicate how
you want to export the data.
| Including a related field in the export |
Choose the name of the related table from the list in the upper-left corner of the dialog box, and then move the fields you want into the "Field export order" area. (You can include related fields before, after, or between other fields being exported.) |
| Exporting grouped summary values instead of individual records |
In the fields list on the left, click a summary field whose values you want to summarize. In the "Group by" area, select each break field by which you want the values summarized. Then click Move. When you click "Move", the program adds the summary field and one or more grouped summary fields to the "Field export order" area. (The program adds one grouped summary field for each break field you selected in the "Group by" area.) The grouped summary fields use the syntax SummaryField by GroupByField, such as "Total Sales by Region." Attention: You can't export grouped summary values unless you sorted the data before you started the export process. (The Group by area shows "Unsorted" instead of any fields if data is not sorted.) |
| Removing a field from "Field export order" and prevent its data from being exported |
For "Field export order", choose a field, then click "Clear". To move all fields from the list, click "Clear All". |
| Changing the export order of the fields | For "Field export order", point to the double arrow to the left of the field name and drag it up or down. |
| Including a field in the export | Double-click the field name to move it to the
"Field
export order" area. To include all fields in the export, click "Move All". |
5. If necessary, for "Output file character set", choose the
character encoding you want the exported file to use.
6.. Click "Export".

Important: When you choose import options that update existing records and update matching records, they overwrite existing data and cannot be undone. To safeguard your data choose Scripts menu > 1.Backup As to make a backup of the file before you perform an import that updates records.
The backup function is automatically performed every time you close your database. You can also choose the Scripts Menu> 1.backup anytime while you are working on the database. The list of files are in a subdirectory in the folder where your program was installed. Most likely in the Windows Programs folder unless you chose a different path during installation. You should always have a few backup copies in different locations as this is the most important part of your whole program. The easiest way to replace the current files with the backup files is to copy and paste them into the main folder of your program.
There is a Mass Mailer program that you can purchase from mongoose-software.com . You can easily export your data into the Mass Mailer and email unlimited msgs to each of your clients with one touch of the button.
In the email section of your database, you can configure many campaigns which will automatically pull up your e-mail client with a pre-determined message. Simply mail one after the other until the campaign's book is done. A hundred or so will not take that long but if you are considering e-mailing 1000's then we recommend that you order the Mass Mailer
Salon-mate was not made to be actual accounting software but it is powerful enough to show and print out weekly, monthly, or quarterly sales reports by clicking on sales numbers either from beneath the "Store Name" on the invoice form or from the dropdown menu at the very top named "reports". You can go even deeper than that with the dropdown menu named invoices>sort by> choose the field you want to sort such as sale date, then omit these records and choose show omitted only. Now when you click on sales numbers this time, it only shows and totals all of the invoices from sale date, you could also make reports like , say you wanted to find the total sales from one client in a year, then sort by "clients name" omit those records, choose show omitted only then run the report again.
You can omit records by paging (page icon on left above record total) through after they are sorted and omit each one by holding the control key with your little finger and T key with your middle finger, or if you know you have 30 invoices for one date after they are sorted by sale date, you can go to the first invoice and choose omit multiple >starting with current>30. Then choose show omitted only, now run the sales numbers report.
It's important to choose show omitted only before your run the report or it will collect all of the data
